INTRODUCTION
Ramjas Political Review, (ramjaspoliticalreview.com), ISSN (O): 3048-5886, is a distinguished student-run, biannual, peer-reviewed academic research journal run by the Department of Political Science, Ramjas College. Since its establishment in 2023, the journal has been involved in publishing original research papers from scholars across the globe in the field of political science and allied disciplines.

With an editing-orientated composition where the submissions undergo a comprehensive blind peer-review process, the organisation reflects a fine academic rigour in all its publications. Standing as a paragon of academic excellence, it boasts itself as the first and only undergraduate-run political science research journal at the University of Delhi with an ISSN recognition, which is a testament to its credibility and academic integrity.

The blind peer-review process is a two-round system, where the Editorial Board engages with the piece, with a two-point objective: i) editing; and ii) providing the author with a scholarly review. Post which, it is sent back to the author for their review and engagement. The final round of the process requires a comprehensive assessment from the Chief Editor to ensure that the piece is suitable for publication. It becomes worthy to note that while plagiarism has become rampant in the discipline and artificially generated content is being flooded in the publications, Ramjas Political Review ensures veritable sources through the rigorous editing process, and that the submitted essays go through standard plagiarism checks.

Ramjas Political Review emphasises combining academic rigour with concise argumentation, aiming to foster research amongst students whilst encouraging intellectual scrutiny at the junction of political science. The journal’s competitive nature, selecting only ten articles from over ninety submissions in its latest issue, 2(1) points to a selective editorial process, which could indicate a focus on quality over content. For its target audience, students and emerging scholars, it seems to strike a balance between accessibility and intellectual challenge. The journal’s growth since its recent inception, with multiple issues already published, shows momentum and a sustained effort to refine its standards.

The Global Village initiative, the outreach programme of the Ramjas Political Review, has been an active space in fostering intellectual dialogue with eminent personalities. Through this initiative, the journal has engaged in interviews with several former foreign secretaries of India, renowned academicians, politicians, and several other esteemed global authors. Such conversations surrounding political theory, economy, and international relations serve to inculcate a culture of academia, which is
also led forward by the journal through organising scholarly panel discussions, involving researchers and students across universities. This contributes to its objective of nurturing the spirit of political science-affiliated academia on the campus, as an important aspect of its periphery.
